Week three of the One Room Challenge involved a lot of prep work, measuring, and math. Here’s actual footage of me calculating how much trim I’ll need for picture frame moulding:
I even had to call in the big guns – my mom. We spent several hours mapping out the spacing between panels and the width of each box. To visualize how the moulding will look, we used painters tape to outline the boxes along the walls.
For paint colors, I’ve sampled two gray greens: Farrow & Ball French Gray and Benjamin Moore Nantucket Green. I’m going to sample a few more options before making a final choice.
This week, I’ll be painting the walls and installing the moulding. I’ll also be ordering the bookcases, rug, and chairs. There are so many good sales this weekend, so it feels like a good time to commit to the big pieces.
While researching options, I saw that Target introduced a very cool functionality on their website that allows you to virtually try an item in your space. You upload a picture of your room, and then you can move and scale the furniture to see what it will look like. It definitely sold me on the Esters Wood Arm Chairs, so two thumbs up to their product team for a job well done!
After a lot of planning and prep this week, I’m excited to see our ideas start coming to life over the remaining weeks of the challenge!
